Learning in Primary
Working to the standards of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), each Milepost gives a child two years to master the curriculum requirements without being ‘pushed through’ before they are ready. Subject goals cover the knowledge, skills and understanding of children relating to the subjects they are learning: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, ICT & Computing, Technology, History, Geography, Music, Physical Education, Art, Health & Well-being and Society.
A Typical Day in Primary
Students begin their day at 8:30am and finish at 3:00pm, with a 20 minute recess and 50 minute lunch break. Core subject learning (i.e. math and literacy) generally takes place in the morning with IPC (project-based) taking place in the afternoons. Extra curricular activities mostly take place on a Wednesday with others intertwined with the daily schedule. Friday afternoons are reserved for assemblies and Family Time.
Students are required to have an iPad in Primary with over-the-ear headphones. Laptops are required for Middle & Senior students.
